Frank & Madge Deeter, are in need of your help. In  late 1999 the Social Ballroom Dance Community suffered 2 tragic  losses. A Big Band Ballroom Dance Festival producer Merle Ostergard  passed away and shortly after, Christy Wells, also a Big Band Ballroom  Dance Festival producer, retired due to an illness. It hit us all like ton of bricks. Where we going to dance and socialize with our friends,  who lived all over the country? Who was going to carry on with these  wonderful events? It was Frank & Madge Deeter. They formed Southern Rhapsody Dance Society and in February 2000. They produced their first of three Big Band Dance Festivals in Dallas, TX. Since then, they have produced 45 Big Band Ballroom Dance Festivals in Nashville TN, Houston TX, Indianapolis IN, Tunica MS, Lake Ozark MO, and Kansas City  MO. All with a LARGE Wood Dance Floor, Top Notch Bands playing a wide variety of Big Band Dance Music encompassing all of the most popular dance tempos, Hotel Accommodations at upscale hotels and some meals.

They began by producing 3 Dance Festivals per year until 2007, when they dropped the Tunica Valentines dance due to low attendance. This worked well until 2015. By well, I mean that at the end of the year, they made  enough to pay all of the Credit Card Debt for the costs to produce those dances, including hotel rooms purchased, ballroom rental, dance floor  rental, meals, insurance and their annual Dance Brochure. However,  expenses incurred in order to personally promote these dances at Social Ballroom Dance Clubs and events as far away as Arizona from their home  in Pleasant View, TN were not. Unknown to everyone, they paid these from their own pockets.

Why would they do that? Go to: and read the full story. Then help. Then tell it to your friends.

The web site below is for the last dance they produced in 2018.

Weekend Format

First Night is Party Night.(Dress Code: Semi-Formal)
Hotel Manager's Reception  at 5:00 . Meet and greet old friends and make new ones. This is immediately followed by our Dance Party from 7:00pm to 10:30pm. Dance on a spacious Floating Wood dance floor to the music of the Ken Kilian Big Band playing a great variety of the best Dance Music from Yesterday.

Second Night its Dress to the Nines for our Grand Ball.
Hotel Manager's Reception at 5:00. Dance from 7:00pm to 10:30pm, with your sweetheart to the great dance music of the Edd Jones Orchestra. In addition, for your viewing pleasure, we will have an Exhibition of Ballroom Dancing during intermission.
Third Dance is a Tea Dance and a more leisure affair (Casual Attire-but no tee shirts or shorts please).
Great dance music continues from 10:00am till 1:00pm, with more great music from Edd Jones Orchestra. We do the Tea Dance so our dancers can get an early start home.

All orchestras are chosen for their quality of music with an emphasis on danceable music and variety of tempos that keeps people on the dance floor. Their well-written arrangements are designed with the dancer in mind.

“One of the pleasures of ballroom dancing is the infectious liveliness of a roomful of dancers. It's hard to be grim and sour when everyone around you is happy and having fun. High spirits are contagious. Social dancing is stimulating. Ballroom dancers are fun people, lively and with pizzazz”… Paul & Joyce Dunlap, Social Big Band Ballroom Dance/Band Critics & Columnists.
