Ken Kilian’s Classic Big Band is making a big splash in the world of ballroom dancing! This 16 member ensemble has its roots in the great big band era with many of the original music arrangements from the Dick Jurgens Orchestra as well as music from Glenn Miller, Jan Garber, Tommy Dorsey, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and a host of others. The group is also performing music with a more modern flair from Michael Buble, Harry Connick, Jr., and the Beatles thanks to some great musical arrangers.
Ken grew up in a small Wisconsin town known more for Cheese curds than musicians…..nevertheless, Ken pursued music as a career, and he has performed all over the country and on many cruise ships around the world, and aboard great riverboats steaming through the heart of the USA. He formed the Classic Big Band in 1983 with the hopes of keeping this great type of music alive, and the idea seems to be gaining momentum! Ken believes in songs with a great melody and words that can be repeated to children or grandchildren…….small town values with a big city sound…..that’s the Ken
Kilian Classic Big Band!
